The evening reset is the single most underrated tool in recovery. Done well, it earns back hours of sleep quality.

The sequence

  • Shower off the session.
  • Twenty-minute magnesium soak.
  • Light dinner, protein and slow carbs.
  • Lights down, phone away.
  • One page of a book, then bed.

Why this order

Each step lowers activation by a notch. Skipping any one of them is fine. Skipping three turns the evening into another waking hour.
