How To Switch Off After Work
The transition from working to recovering is its own skill. A simple sequence to mark the line.

Most people leave the office in their head. The body is at home; the nervous system is still at work. The result is an evening that never quite arrives.
Mark the transition
- Change out of work clothes within fifteen minutes of getting home.
- Twenty-minute soak or walk — pick one, do it daily.
- Phone in another room from the moment you start eating.
Why it works
A physical cue is the fastest way to signal a context change. The body and the brain follow the routine.
